Wine and Cava

Wine is one of the most recognizable symbols of Mediterranean culture as well as an asset that identifies the city and province of Tarragona, a vast area covered with vineyards and creating one-of-a-kind products.

If you would like to buy wine from the area, ask for one of these designations of origin: Priorat (qualified designation of origin), Tarragona, Montsant, Conca de Barberà or Penedès.

Priorat is the only Designation of Origin qualified in Catalonia and one of the two that Spain has with this seal. To obtain it, at least ten years must have elapsed since its recognition as a Designation of Origin, it has very exhaustive quality control and all bottled wine is marketed.

The DO Cava is also an area of special interest, located mainly in the Penedès region. This DO is specialized in the production of exquisite sparkling wines.
