Tarraco Viva
Tarragona travels in time to a period of great splendour for the city: the Roman times. During these international symposia to raise awareness of ancient Roman history, the visitor experiences Roman Tarraco through historic performances such as gladiator fights, Roman theatre, music and dance, and historical re-enactments of life in Roman times. All of this within an incomparable setting: the monumental sites declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Tarraco Taula, a gastronomic festival of ancient recipes of Roman cuisine, complements the historical re-enactments.

34th International Fireworks Display Competition
The "Ciutat de Tarragona" International Fireworks Competition has a long-standing tradition (since 1990) and has become one of the most iconic events in the Mediterranean. During the first week of July, the skies over Tarragona light up with the spectacle. For four nights, pyrotechnic companies compete at Punta del Miracle to showcase the best of their art, and the winner is awarded the honor of launching the fireworks for the Santa Tecla Festival.

It's generally a quiet day focused on rest and time with family, following the lively celebrations of New Year's Eve (December 31st). On that night, it's traditional to have a festive dinner, enjoy fireworks, and eat 12 grapes at midnight—one for each clock chime—to bring good luck for the year ahead.

Three Wise Men Day – National Holiday
The Three Wise Men (or Epiphany) is a traditional celebration in Spain held on January 6th. It commemorates the visit of Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar,who brought gifts to baby Jesus. On the evening of January 5th, parades take place across cities and towns, with the kings arriving on horseback, carriages, or even boats, throwing candies to children. That night, kids leave their shoes out hoping to receive gifts if they've been good, or coal if not! It's a magical and much-loved holiday, especially for children.

The Sant Pere Festival is the most important local celebration in Reus and Cambrils, dedicated to Saint Peter, the patron saint of fishermen. In Reus, the festival features religious events, the traditional "seguici festiu" (folk parade), human towers (castellers), fire runs (correfocs), and lively street performances. It all culminates with the spectacular "tronada" (a powerful local firework display) and the procession of Saint Peter. In Cambrils, the sea plays a central role: the highlight is the maritime procession, where fishermen carry the image of the saint out to sea on decorated boats, accompanied by traditional music and festivities.
