The cruise terminal at Tarragona Cruise Port, managed by Global Ports Tarragona, a company within the Global Ports Holding group, has been recognized with the World Architecture Design Award, an international accolade that honors excellence in architecture and design.
The award highlights a project designed by Hombre de Piedra Arquitectos, which combines contemporary design, architectural innovation, and operational efficiency, establishing the terminal as a benchmark within the modern port infrastructure sector.
Inaugurated on June 11, 2024, the terminal has a built area of 2,204 square meters and has been conceived as a modern and versatile building that enhances the experience for passengers, cruise lines, and operators, while meeting the growing demands of cruise activity in the Western Mediterranean.
The project stands out for its focus on industrialized architecture, the integration of innovative construction processes, and careful attention to functionality and sustainability, reinforcing Tarragona’s position as an emerging destination in the cruise industry.
In addition to the World Architecture Design Award, the terminal has received recognition in other international architecture and construction competitions, reflecting the quality of its design and its contribution to innovation in port infrastructure.
