Technical Information

Tarragona Cruise Port serves as the main cruise port to the ancient city for both a transit and turnaround operations. With 3 berths and no length & draft limitation, the port can easily handle the largest cruise ships in the world. The cruise terminal is a multifunctional and sustainable terminal, it is expected to achieve considerable savings in emissions that will imply a reduction in the carbon footprint. This terminal had a modular construction, which also allowed savings in materials and waste. Both points are aligned with the objective of the “Sustainability Plan for the 2030 agenda of the Port of Tarragona”.

    About the Terminal

    Tarragona Cruise Port is located just one hour south of Barcelona. In 2022, the port inaugurated a new wharf dedicated exclusively to cruise ships, and in June 2024, the new passenger terminal became fully operational, designed to provide a smooth and comfortable experience for both cruise lines and passengers.

    In recent years, the port has established itself as a strategic location for turnaround operations, thanks to its easy access for vessels and its proximity to Barcelona Airport—just one hour away by car and easily connected via motorway.

    Moreover, 93% of visitors who have taken excursions in the region say they would recommend Tarragona. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its Roman legacy, Tarragona offers not only history but also a wide, engaging, and fun range of experiences to explore throughout the region.
