The Port Authority and Tarragona Cruise Port have implemented a Quality Management System (QMS) aimed at managing the processes and the resources needed to contribute value to its activities and to increase customer satisfaction, both internal and the external ones, by applying the system effectively, with the goal of continuous improvement and ensuring conformity with customers’ requirements as well as applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
The Port Authority of Tarragona and Tarragona Cruise Port are fully aware of the challenges it must face to remain competitive in a global economy, while also addressing the need to protect the environment and use energy resources responsibly. For this reason, one of its permanent objectives is to strive for excellence in quality, environmental, and energy management within the scope of the Port of Tarragona.
Tarragona Cruise Port, has been awarded the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications by Bureau Veritas on 11 May 2026, further strengthening its commitment to service quality and responsible environmental management.
These certifications recognize the management system implemented at the terminal for passenger services, including embarkation and disembarkation operations, security screening, and baggage handling, ensuring that all processes are carried out in accordance with internationally recognized standards of quality and sustainability.
The ISO 9001 certification confirms the implementation of a management system focused on continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Meanwhile, the ISO 14001 certification highlights Tarragona Cruise Port’s commitment to environmental protection, the prevention of environmental impacts, and the responsible use of natural resources.
